The
original Harbeth Monitor 40 was designed as a drop-in replacement for
the BBC LS5/8 studio loudspeaker. It has worked well in the ‘dry’
acoustic favored by broadcasters. However, after the supply of bass
drivers abruptly stopped, Harbeth decided to create a totally new
in-house bass unit. Happily, during the development of the new driver,
it became apparent the performance of the speaker overall could be
advanced to unforeseen levels.

at "THE SHOW", commented on a tighter and more extended bass;
noticeably increased sensitivity; easier amplifier load, and smoother
overall balance. 6moons says..."Simply Stunning". Talk of "world's
best" is already circulating in regards to the new Monitor 40.1.
